Do I need to connect my receiver to the Internet?
Connecting your receiver(s) to the Internet is not required for regular live TV viewing.  However, Internet is required in order to view VOD Video On Demand from your receiver.

How do I connect my receiver to the Internet?
If you have an older 6xx series receiver, the receiver must be connected via Ethernet.  However, current 8xx series receivers can be connected either via Ethernet or Wireless.

Ethernet:
  1. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to a free port on your home modem / router.
  2. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the network port on the back of your satellite receiver.
  3. Check the router to ensure the connection lights have illuminated.
  4. Confirm that your receiver was able to successfully establish a connection by verifying your connection.
